Hello all! I am sorry I haven't updated you all on my family's hair journeys. Things have been busy around here. Plus, my children love to use the computers or any electronic device, and I don't get much time on the computer or my mobile anyway. I have to snatch away a device for a few mins to update my FB ;) I have neglected pinterest and even instagram! Anyway, right now I have the computer to myself since I have to pay lovely, lovely bills. Blegh.
So, wanted to share with you all that I will be going back to school after an 8 year.....er break. After not focusing on my classes the last semester I was in school, I left. I didn't have to, but I did it because I thought it'd make my father the happiest if I joined the AF anyway.
The benefit of joining the air force was that I'd get financial help if I decided to go to school. After my time was up in the Air Force, I was pregnant and married with a 1 year old. The thought of going back to school scared me to death. After my daughter was a bit older and sleeping 13 hours a day ( NOT A TYPO!) and my husband was back from his deployment, I was ready to get back into school. Theeeeeeeeeeeeeen. I got pregnant....we sort of planned to have another one but a year later when I was back into the school routine and couldn't quit lol. But we got pregnant earlier than expected, then I got too scared.
We moved to a new city, and my son was a bit a of a handful so I let fear takeover me again. When we moved, I talked to the education adviser a few times, but never followed through. Then I started to doing this blog and realized how much work was putting into it (when I posting regularly) and realized I could put this energy and then some towards school. I was hesitant at first, but after talking to mom a few times about my educational plans, I believed the time was now. I finally sent off my forms to the VA and after a nearly 2 month wait, I got the certificate!! I went to the education office applied for school and tonight I am registering for classes. I was really excited, but now I am terrified. The first two weeks of school, my husband will not be home. I have a class I take in person and another one online (easing my way back) So I have to juggle school, children, keeping a nice-ish, eh who I am kidding, keeping the home from burning down, taking my son to school, my daughter and son to gymnastics/ballet my word.
Anyone else return to school after a long hiatus? How did you deal? What kind of online courses did you take? Any recommendations on how to juggle everything. I am a nervous wreck.
If you do not follow my FB page, I shared some photos from a photoshoot I did with some friends and a fabulous photographer and owner of the wonderful blog www.palatepassport.com. PLEASE go there. You won't want to leave. Everything from food to travel to photography...all beautiful.

Congrats on deciding to head back to school. I'm currently getting my MBA and have had to take breaks to...get married...have a baby...and just breathe. lol. It's really not that bad. Just get excited the way kids do...get a new bag and supplies and enjoy the time for yourself. It'll be over before you know it!
ReplyDeletethank you!!! i am excited about back to school shopping :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such a brave and fulfilling step, returning to school. I dropped out after having only completed the 9th grade and plan to go back...hopefully soon. It's definitely nerve-wracking with a baby and while trying to expand our family. You can do this! You really can. <3
ReplyDeletethat is so exciting! congrats! i wish i were brave to go back to school. i am certain that you will do fabulous!
ReplyDeletelove the picture of you and your baby girl. you both look beautiful!
Congrats Mama, I'm so excited for you. I've been back taking classes myself and thinking of getting in the MBA program. You can do it and don't worry if the housework goes down in flames, having a spotless house is overrated anyways. I thought you look gorgeous in those shots, not that you don't always look great.
