Maybe Leaving May Not Be More Bitter Than Sweet

So, I have this law firm on back about paying a bill that my insurance should have taken care of a year ago. I have no clue who is at fault here but it is getting on my freaking nerves.

Not to mention this end of year bill. SIIIGGHH!!!!

This is making me want to leave faster. Of course pay the bills first and get everything taken care of first.

I really just want o fast forward to the part where everything is OK.

Oh did I mention that we have a car to sell. I am so stressed. I just want a small glimpse of an okay future.

Moving Day Diary 5/22/13 : Organized Chaos

This is our unaccompanied baggage. Well most of it. We also have clothes, the kids' bikes, hair tools, powerwheel more kitchen appliances and other things. Tomorrow the guys come in whatever time they can and pick it all up an put it on a truck, then a ship and then another truck to our next destination.

I made sure to pack my favorite cooking supplies so it'll be ready for me to use within a few weeks as it will take months for our large shipment of household goods to arrive. Our house is becoming more and more empty. I can hear my echo in more and more rooms.

Tomorrow I have to make sure our travel plans to see our family are squared away, and also I have to clean and do more laundry, but most of all play the waiting game. Mil moves...so fun.

Wordless Wednesday

We were at the end of a rainbow a week and a half ago. Was so cool.

Moving Diary 5/21/13: Productive Day

So happy that I got a lot accomplished today. Most of the laundry is done so now I have everything that will be shipped this week in one area and the stuff we pack in our suitcases somewhere.

Today I talked to my neighbor for a while. He is so sweet and has helped me tremendously while we lived here. I hope to have a great neighbor like him (some of my other neighbors not all of them are so nice.).

We got rid of about 8 bags of clothes as well as stuff on the curb. It truly disappears before we have a chance to sit it on the ground. Still happy I made an appointment though. Because not everything is getting snatched up. Like our 120V old Christmas tree and lights so they can take that and it's off our hands.  I also cleaned the main bathroom reorganizing everything again to make sure got rid of everything that wasn't needed.

Tomorrow, my plan is to clean the kitchen, cook the dinner I was supposed to today LOL! Also put all the appliances, clothes, kitchenware, electronics and kids' toys so the movers can get to them and get out as quickly as possible!

My plan is to stay productive, positive, and consistent with everything going on

Moving Diary 5/20/13

I got to talk to my mom yesterday. That was nice. She's still feeling really really down about all of the close deaths in our family. I hope seeing me and my family soon lift her spirits. I miss her and my brother, we definitely need to see one another as much as we can.

I've been feeling really ill all week. I've been ill since Friday afternoon. Stupid weather here. It's been terrible. Rainy most days and sunny maybe one. So annoying. I did get done as much as I could. I went through all the 'junk' drawers, you know the one you put pamphlets, receipts, earrings that don't match, screws etc.  I cleaned those out. I also moved most of our seasonal decor from flimsy boxes to better storage compartments. Trying to have an organized start! We have a lot of stuff! I did get rid of a lot of stuff as well. We still had 220V Christmas lights that we forgot to get rid of. Well luckily we've already made arrangements to have metal and electrical items picked up. I guess will be getting rid of our vacuum the very last minute, with kids you need that every single day, several times a day.

We think our neighbors will love rummaging through our things this week, I hope. I would love to see things get a new home than have to get dumped somewhere.

Well today, I am going to try to do as much laundry as possible and sort out more clothes. Mostly me eldest.   He is growing so fast and his pants are getting shorter every day. I also will call some rental car agencies in the states to see whether or not we can rent a car for our trip to see our families. That will be a very very exhausting week.

Weekend Moving Diary

This weekend we are making lists of what's to come for the week.

It's the first of many big weeks we will have over the next 3 months!

Saturday we said goodbye to our lamps (220V) from Ikea and a yard sale. We loved those lamps and hated to see them go, but, we can't bring them. We also said goodbye to our coffee machine. We made a big effort in finding that machine.

I also met up with a good friend Saturday from the old days. I love her. She's known me through all my craziness and stayed true. It's hard finding a friend who doesn't judge you based on your past or bring it up whenever. She left when her little man was just a teeny. It's like the time didn't pass. I ran to him, picked him up and spun him around. I love kids lol.

Today we are organizing the last the stuff that we must throw out/giveaway and cleaning the car. It's neat and sad to see everything steadily disappear. The kids are becoming super sentimental as well.

We went to my husband's farewell picnic. It was really nice. I am not really in the 'milspouse' community. I prefer to keep to myself. I am all about a drama free life. However that all may change soon. Sigh. So I gotta suck it up and be a good spouse and most of all continue to be myself. I hate being in situations where I must be fake, but who says I have to be. My friend told me the sweetest thing yesterday. Sometimes it takes someone else to say it for you to realize it yourself.

Today's plan is to clean and organize. I have to figure out what clothes we're shipping. It will not be a lot. We also figured we'd buy clothes en route as well. So it may be more than we expected.

Off topic: As my 30th birthday is approaching, for some reason I've really gotten into makeup but also skin care. If you'd like to see a haul post let me know. I'd also like to do one grocery haul. We will be home 1 full week of the 4 weeks we have left. OMG we will be gone in 30 freaking days. #treasuringeverymoment

Moving Diary Day 5- Sighhhhh

Getting my stateside driver's license is proving to be a big fail. I lost my temporary license ages ago and now I can not even get a renewal!

I didn't really want to drive much anyway, but I just feel kind of rejected. Punished because I've lived overseas so long almost.

Oh well. I'll keep trying to figure something out.

Today we cleaned out our garage. All that's left to do is get rid of some of the old bikes. We have a scheduled pick up for that.

Also today me and the kids went to Heidelberg on the streetcar. Man streetcar rides compared to 4 years ago is so much easier. We have used the streetcar alot (a lot of times it was drama), we also traveled a lot this in the last 2 years and took many means of public transportation, so they are probably seasoned pros by now.

My youngest love to take the streetcar into town. I remember when he was a baby, we'd play at the fountain on the main square in our town, and whenever he'd hear the streetcar go by he'd run to it every time. That was about every 5 minutes.

Yes he was dressed like this! There was a fountain and he was all business initially.

We went to town ate lunch wanted to see a good friend but my ever so reliable iphone died and i couldn't contact her as I got lost and it was raining and the kids were getting annoyed with how clueless mommy was.

Tomorrow we are completing the sales of our lamps (220V) and our coffee machine (also 220V). I also get to see another friend who was stationed with me when I was in the military. So cool. Happy to see her again.

Thanks for reading!!!

Moving Day Diary 14-16th

Sorry I am already terrible at this.

So we got rid of a lot of stuff this week. I keep finding clothes that we need to give away as well. But we got a stinger our end of year electric bill. Here in Germany they estimate how much power/heat/water you would use when you move in. At the end of the year if you used too little or too much, they pay you back or you have to pay back what ever is over. We've been lucky and not so lucky.

This time we weren't so lucky, We have to pay back 2 grand yikes. Talk about stressed!

This making me weary of living off post in our next city. Plus less bills and great opportunity to save. Those are the only reasons I want to live on post. But my husband and I can think of soooo many other reasons why we do not want to live on post. We'll see when we get there.

Next on our list is to get rid of all the boxes from when we first moved here four years ago.  We have that taken care of for tomorrow! You meet some funny characters in the world of classifieds. We also have to get rid of all of our electronics and metal belongings we are no longer using and put together all of the stuff we want the movers to take for our whole baggage next week.

Today I also put in a request to transfer all of my credits to me new university so I can start school next fall *fingers crossed* I really missed school. This term, I can not wait to go back. My daughter will be in school and we are hoping to put or son in preschool either on or off base. We're hoping that it will all work out.

Next we have to get the car cleaned and detailed so we can sell it. Having three kids make a mess of the interior over the past 5 years need extra care. Did I mention we will not have cloth seats for our next car?

We have a lot to do and organize. So stressful but it's getting me moving and going. Perfect when you're in a slump like I've been in for a while.

Thanks for reading!

Moving diary: Day 1 Manic Monday

I am going to try to make a blog post everyday about our move. This is so exciting and overwhelming I hope this helps me get organized!

So ladies and gent we are down to our final WEEKS here in Germany! So scary and exciting. Our house is highly coveted. We've had people come to our in the middle of the night stop us on the street asking us when we're ready to move. Obviously we are Americans and the locals know of what's going in the community so they're curious. I just don't like strangers knocking on my door in the middle of the night. I can recognize most of the people in our community so I don't mind talking to people.

Today we are getting rid of furniture we couldn't give away. We sold the beds and a lot of other stuff. So I scheduled a bulk pick-up for tomorrow. It's called 'sperrmuell'. However when I put everything on the curb people in the community are picking up quickly lol. I don't mind, I knew this would happen. We also donated a lot of clothes and shoes. I donated so much.

This is our first international move as a family and my and the kids first ever so I think removing the old and starting anew is a great idea. Even if we stayed in Germany we would do this though. I am still waiting for my steamer and make-up from ELF to arrive! This is frustrating. But that's what living overseas is like lots of waiting.

Tomorrow I have to do A LOT of cleaning and get everything organized for the movers and also another bulk pick-up this time with metals and electronics. We also have to sell our car. So there is a lot we have to do. Not to mention figuring out what we're packing and what we are not. We are lucky to have an express option called small baggage. So we will pack things we need immediately there and that way we don't have to pack it in our suitcase. I hope we can pack the kids' bikes in the small baggage.

Random Tidbits about Moving and Recipe Links

Hey y'all! It's the month of MAY! I am sure you all know that as it's the 7th, but what this means for us is that it's our last month full month here!

This month will be spent selling, donating, throwing away a lot of stuff. This is my first international PCS. I came to Germany with 2 suitcases. Exciting and stressful.

I am always walking around asking random people if they want/need something. I probably look crazy, but I call it hustling. If you're friends with me on Facebook, I stay asking folk if they need such and such as well. Just trying to give first dibs!

Yesterday I gave away all of my 220V appliances leaving room for new LOL. Initially, my intent was to buy after we moved, but I JUST couldn't pass this up.

It's a two-tiered digital steamer. I like Hamilton Beach products and it's only 30 bucks on Amazon and now I don't need to buy a rice cooker as I originally intended. I hope it arrives soon! http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach-37537-Digital-Steamer/dp/B002SB8LPA

The kids are starting to see that we're outta here soon as more things around the house disappears. Tomorrow the movers are coming by to make an estimate of how long it will take to move our house. hopefully it will not take too long because we have to CLEAN A LOT. The house has to be spic-and-span before we leave. We haven't had much luck getting out deposit back in the past and we're thinking we're in for a losing streak. ugh.

Right now we're shopping for homes. We're debating whether to live on base or off base any inputs will be great. Now that we know where we will be it makes it a bit easier to plan. I will let you all know for sure on June 15th where we will be!  My son's asthma became an issue so we were stuck in moving limbo. So happy to know for sure now and this time I didn't scream it out on the rooftops. Only close friends and family knows for sure basically our parents and siblings a couple friends and my husband's coworkers (of course).

We also planned one more trip probably our last to see my brother and his family in England. So excited to see them again. I am not sure when we will have the chance again. Hoping this trip is better, health wise....we all had a nasty bug the last time we were there. We'll see.

Thanks for reading. I've been making videos a lot so I can not wait to edit it. There's a lot of footage and i have to get a bit more savvy with video editing.
